ABOUT SAILING: When it's hot - get in the water, but if there's wind - you've got to capture it. Our Hobie Wave's are perfect for campers to get moving in the water. These boats are great for beginners because they will move in the gentlest breeze, and have simple rudders and boomless sails. Did I mention the Instruction! Campers are instructed to get to the point where they don't need a staff member in their boat, and have the skills to get from point A to point B using the WIND! A huge bonus is Calleva's location at Seneca Lake on the Potomac River, making the usually tough start to the first day a snap! In the water and getting the much needed time on the boats dialed. Our boats are 4 to a trailer and can be towed to different locations when looking for needed wind speeds for specific skill levels. Individuals are made into teammates and asked to work together. Much effort goes into team building games and skills. Sailing protocols are drilled to ensure quick responses and of course much fun is had. Exploring islands and docks, Racing and obstacle courses, pirating and all sorts of fun to keep the days flowing into one memorable week.
