ABOUT RIVER ECOLOGY: Rather than joining the “real world” I have come back for another epic summer! River ecology is back with more adventure and excitement. We are now too big for just rivers, so we are moving into wetlands and forested areas along rivers (riparian forest). Throughout the week we will wander with a purpose and stay off the beaten path. Our travels will lead us to unknowingly learn about creatures in the water, stream health, and watersheds. We will tromp through creeks, traverse rivers, canoe to unique islands, negotiate rapids, camp under that stars, and swing from dangling ropes! Come and join us and have an adventure!

William "Wigi" Young developed this program to expand Calleva's education beyond the sport and into the science.  This is an opportunity for those interested in the environment and the relationship between man and our fresh water.  Test, analyze, and record environmental impacts and use the data to better understand the choices we make and the impacts of those choices.  Our travels will include but not limited to Adventure Island, McKee Besher Wildlife Refuge, Seneca Greenway Trail, McMahon's Mill, and Mather Gorge.
