Canoeing Activity

Activity Overview: Canoeing brings out the best of paddling experiences. The combination of the teamwork inherent in a tandem canoe coupled with the thrill of whitewater make for an awesome and instructive experience. Calleva teaches basic canoeing, paddling strokes and more advanced whitewater techniques, including tilt, ferrying, and eddy turns. And - one of the most useful techniques of whitewater - the ability to stay calm and upright when the water gets rough. Whitewater principles and river-reading techniques that apply to all whitewater disciplines help paddlers to understand how best to run any rapid they find. 

Activity Offered to: Camps, schools, corporate/environmental organizations, private groups and parties.

Special Considerations:  Canoeing is offered on a seasonal basis from late spring through late fall.
