About Sampler: Sampler campers rotate through five days of various activities. Activities are random and will be selected from a couple of our Adventure Camps: Rock Climbing, Kayaking, Caving, Rafting, Canoeing, & Adventure Island. All campers during Sampler weeks are split into age appropriate groups of 12. The groups are then given a color which corresponds to a schedule of activities. Each morning after council, the groups with their assigned counselor meet up with their days' instructor and delve deep into adventure. Campers need to come ready to get wet, because every day there may be a chance to take a plunge.

Operations: Sampler Camp operates between 9am to 4pm. There is no Thursday overnight. We provide transportation to Camp (at Riley's Lock) from Metropolitan Area "pick-up points". Bus stops range between 8-9 in the morning and between 4-5 in the afternoon. Parent pick-up can be arranged through the office.

Special Consideration: Sampler is only offered weeks 1, 2, 12, & 13. Week one is offered while public schools are still in session. Your campers' selection will be available from the bus counselor when they call you the weekend before enrollment and the group's activities are listed on web prior to week. Calleva provides all safety/technical gear for participating in any activity. Campers will be notified of activities and specific personal needs for the assigned activities. Each day is taken from the first day of activity itineraries from Adventure Camps (Activities are random) All itineraries are subject to change due to staff/director decisions based upon skill levels, age, water levels, environmental hazards, and thirst for adventure. All changes to itineraries go through the Calleva Office first! Sampler Camp DOES NOT HAVE AN OVERNIGHT because of the huge activity shuffle that takes place over the week and the inability to do a specific activity overnight.
