The newest and hottest sport sweeping the nation is now the newest and hottest activity at Calleva Adventure Camps..... River Stand Up Paddleboarding! The Potomac is ready for a new water vehicle, and we have stolen it from our CLS Surfing Trips. Calleva's Stand-Up Paddleboards are built for river travel, and campers learn about current and movement much like a kayaker - however they are standing! With the appropriate gear and excellent instruction this sport is sure to be a hit at Calleva!  Campers progress at their individual skill, starting by standing on the board in the flat water, and sitting while in current. Over the week, campers learn how to navigate, control, and feel comfortable on top of their craft. While honing their skills on rivers, campers apply the surfing techniques to rapids and are constantly on the lookout for the perfect ride! This NEW activity is a combination of our two very succesful programs of Kayaking & Surfing.... a definite for campers that like the  cool surfing of the beach, and wild rapids on the river!

Special Consideration:  Campers will be in the sun for the majority of the day and Staff make sure they frequently get in the water to cool themselves down. We ask that parents help us in driving in the point that sun screen must be reapplied every 2 hours. All campers and staff in the water/boat must wear appropriate safety gear at ALL times (PFD)!
