XC Schooling

Available for schooling in the spring and fall, weather permitting. The Calleva Cross Country Course is designed for novice riders and novice horses. The course consists of a dozen small obstacles between 1 and 3 feet in height with a maximum spread of 3 feet. The field is fully enclosed for horse and rider safety. The hilly field is approximately 8 acres in size. There is a 20 x 30 foot water obstacle with a flat (beach) approach and exit, a novice drop in and log out, a training drop in and a log out.. the depth of the water is approximately 10 inches with a packed sand bottom. The obstacles are small but challenging, some require precision and following a line such as the zig zag, the "Y" and the narrow stump. We also offer a sunken road, a coffin, a hog's back, a stair case and more. Riders are permitted to school for up to 2 hours. Safety vests, ASTM/SEI approved helmets, negative Coggins tests and certified instructors, for riders under 18, are all required. Waivers can be found on our website. $10 per horse for 2 hours.
