American Red Cross First Aid/ CDR/ AED: Everyone should have this regardless of whether or not you work in a teaching environment. If you do, then you must! We open our class to the general public, and with our extensive training equipment and quality instruction, we will give you the confidence you need if such an occasion should arise.
ABOUT STANDARD FIRST AID - (5.5 hours)
Prepare your staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. This course covers first aid and adult CPR. Workplace Training: Standard First Aid with AED is available in a 6.5 hour course with AED training included.
Our American Red Cross Standard First Aid training complements adult learning styles with hands-on practice and real-life scenarios. Our take-away materials help employees to retain skills and serve as reference tools in an emergency. This comprehensive course meets training guidelines for first aid established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Topics covered include:
- How to determine the safe response to an emergency situation.
- Recognizing and caring for life-threatening emergencies in adults, such as respiratory, choking and cardiac problems.
- Caring for injuries including severe cuts and burns, sprains and strains.
- Caring for sudden illnesses such as poisonings, bites and stings.
- Recognizing and caring for heat- and cold-related emergencies.
- Automated External Defibrillation (AED) information.
- Workplace emergency planning.
Adult CPR - (3.75 hours)
For employers who need adult CPR training only, this hands-on skills training prepares participants to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. Adult CPR/AED is available in a 4.5 hour course with AED training included.
American Red Cross adult CPR training complements a variety of learning styles with hands-on practice and real-life scenarios. Our take-away materials help employees retain skills and serve as reference tools in an emergency.
Combining lecture, video demonstrations and hands-on manikin training, this course teaches participants to:
- Call and work with EMS
- Perform CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies
- Avoid bloodborne pathogens exposure
- Know the role of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in the Cardiac Chain of Survival
Infant and Child CPR - (5.5 hours)
Designed for childcare providers, teachers, parents and others who care for children, this course prepares participants to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children up to 8 years. Participants take home a refresher skills card as well as information about preventing injuries. Infant CPR is also available separately as a 3.5 hour course that applies to infants up to 12 months; Child CPR (4 hours) is available separately and applies to children age 1 to 8 years.

This course teaches individuals currently certified in Adult CPR how to safely use an AED to provide care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

Focusing on typical automated external defibrillator (AED) equipment, this course features hands-on simulation, lecture, and live and video demonstrations. Participants learn to:
